Record your Skype calls with Evoca Express

Step 1: Add the Evoca Express Call Recorder Contact to Skype. Depending on what version of the Skype client you are using, the call recorder contact will appear as or or . Any version of the call recorder contact will work.
Step 2: When you are on a call, simply click to add the Evoca Express contact to the call (when on a call, click on "Add callers" and select Evoca from the list). The first time you use the service, you will be prompted to create an account. You will have 15 minutes of free recording, after that you need to sign up for a Pro account.
Step 3: We will be sending you chat messages to guide you through your recording. Please make sure your Skype chat privacy setting is at "Allow anyone to send chat messages to me". You'll find it in your Skype account at Tools > Options > Privacy > Chats & SMS.
Step 4: When you are done recording, simply hang up or remove the Evoca contact from the call, and you will receive a chat message with a link to download and transcribe your recording. The recording will also be stored in your Evoca Express account.

Pricing

The first 15 minutes of recording are free. Upgrade to an Evoca Express paid account! You get a "bucket" of 600 minutes (10 hours) of storage at $2.95 per month. We'll automatically renew the bucket every quarter. This means that you can store up to 600 minutes of recordings for as long as you choose. Add more buckets of 600 minutes each at $1.00 per month. You also can order a transcription of your call for $2.50 a minute to receive a full transcription emailed as a Word document.

FAQ

Why don't I receive any chat messages?
When you record a call with Skype on Evoca Express you will receive a few chat messages to accept the Terms of Use, as well as the location to download and transcribe your recording. If you are not receiving any of these chat messages, you need set your Skype software preferences to allow chats from "anyone", or by adding "evoca-chat" to your Skype contacts. You will find these options by clicking on Tools > Options > Privacy within your Skype software.

How do I add the Evoca Express contact to a call?
When you are on a Skype call, click on the "Add callers" button at the top of your Skype software. This will display your list of contacts. Select Evoca-Skype-Recorder contact, and add it to the call. Skype offers some handy instructions too.

Why is it taking so long to connect to the Evoca Express Call Recorder?
It might take up to 20 seconds to connect to the Evoca Express call recorder, the connection times vary. Don't worry, it's worth the wait!

Who can listen to my recorded calls?
The default setting makes all of your calls "private". Want to share it with the world? You can go to your Evoca.com account and under "edit" change the privacy setting for an individual recording to "public". Whether it's public or private, you can easily email the recording link it to a colleague or friend to listen to it.

Can I download my recorded calls?
Yes, you will find a handy "Download" button in your Evoca Express account after clicking on the recording. The recording will download in MP3 format.

How much does the service cost?
You can start using the service for free. With your free Evoca Express account you will be able to record up to 15 minutes. If you want more, no need to worry. Our Pro account ($2.95 per month) comes packed with 600 minutes of recording storage time, enough to talk your heart out. Want more? Simply add additional buckets of 600 minutes for an additional $1.00 per month

What is the maximum length of each recording?
There is no limit to the length of your recordings. The only limitation is the amount of minutes you have in your account. Free accounts come with 15 minutes, Pro accounts have 600 minutes ($2.95 per month) and you can purchase additional buckets of 600 minutes for an $1.00 per month.

Will the service use my SkypeOut credit?
No, recording your calls with the Evoca Express Call Recorder is a free Skype to Skype call. You will not be charged any credits for this call.

Do I have to create an Evoca Express account before using the service?
The first time you use the recording function, we will prompt you to create a free account. If you already have an Evoca Express account, you can simply enter your Skype username in your account settings and continue using your account as usual.

Is there a limit to the number of people who I can record?
You are only limited to the total number of members you can have on a Skype call (23 + Evoca).

Can I record SkypeOut calls?
Yes, place your SkypeOut call, and once connected, bring the Evoca Express Skype Call Recorder user on to the call.

Why does the Evoca Express contact have an orange icon? Is it not online?
The Evoca Express Call Recorder contact is always available for use, night and day. You might see the icon as or or , depending on the version of Skype software you use. You can use the contact just as if it were an online user.

How does the transcription service work?
After recording your call, you will be provided with the option of ordering a transcription. Any recording less than 2 hours in length will be transcribed or translated within 4 business days. Recordings longer than 2 hours up to 5 hours will be delivered within 5 business days. Recordings over 5 hours will be quoted on a case-by-case basis. What does the transcription cost?
The transcription will be charged at $2.50 per recorded minute. So, let's say you recorded a sales call that lasted 15 minutes. Your cost would be 15 X $2.50 = $37.50.

In what format will I receive my transcription?
Transcriptions and translations will be delivered to you by email, as a Microsoft Word™ attachment.

Are your transcriptions done by people or software?
Evoca Express' transcription services are 100% human-powered. We believe that there is no replacement for the human ear when it comes to transcribing a call. We do not use any software for our transcription or translation services.
