EVOCA ENABLES VOICE COMMENTS ON BLOGS
Evoca Browser Mic selected by TypePad
so blog visitors can speak their minds instead of typing
Savannah, Ga., October 24, 2006 – The millions of visitors to blogs now have a new option for leaving their comments. They can record a message in their own voice instead of typing, thanks to the Evoca Browser Mic simply by using their computer microphone. The Evoca Browser Mic is available as a plug-in for the leading blogging platforms TypePad, Wordpress and Blogger.
Evoca Browser Mic can be used with corporate and media Web sites, and social networking sites including MySpace, as well as blogs with an embeddable code available at Evoca.com. Each time a voice comment is made, Evoca notifies the blog or Web site owner/author via e-mail, who can choose to post the comment on-line. Evoca hosts the creation and posting of the audio.
TypePad, an award-winning hosted Weblog service and leading blogging software provider, has made Evoca Browser Mic the only audio widget in its gallery. “Bloggers want to do more than enter text, and voice capability extends the possibilities for expression,” explained Michael Sippey, Vice President, Product at Six Apart, the parent company of TypePad.
Sippey adds, “Making a voice comment is quick and requires no special equipment. We selected Evoca to offer first because itÕs the easiest and most fully featured audio service.”
According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, which reports on the impact of the Internet, 39 percent of Internet users, or 57 million Americans, read blogs.
“The Evoca Browser Mic adds an exciting new dimension to blogging,” said Murem Sharpe, co-founder and CEO of Evoca. “Talking is easy to do and comes naturally. It is the single most powerful way we express ourselves.”
