EVOCA.COM OPENS WASHINGTON OFFICE TO ADD "VOICES" TO CAMPAIGNS AND CAUSES

Evoca online powers Sen. Barack Obama site for town halls; Sen. Sherrod Brown's GOTV efforts in mid-terms powered by Evoca

Washington, DC, May 17, 2007 – Evoca, the voice-to-Web services company, has established a Washington Office in the National Press Club Building. Murem Sharpe, CEO, has named Washington insider and political media veteran Mike Smith as managing director of that office. Smith has over 25 years of experience most recently serving as communications director of the Draft Mark Warner for President movement. He also served on President William J. Clinton's first term transition team in 1992-93.

Evoca's voice-to-Web services have now been added to the Barack Obama Web site to help drive voter interaction on key issues and stimulate discussion with the candidate, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). During the mid-term elections, Evoca voice communities and Web-based voice messaging supported Sen. Sherrod Brown's (D-OH) strong get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort in Ohio.

"Evoca has enabled Voter-Generated-Content (VGC) and opened direct communications between candidates and the electorate," said Smith. "The best campaign sites for 2008 will be empowered with Evoca's digital voice communications." He added that voters may weigh-in on issues and social causes may advocate using either wireless phone or PC microphone.

"We are very pleased to bring someone of Mike's caliber aboard to help political campaign directors and non-profit communications executives discover the simple use of voice communications," said Murem Sharpe, CEO and co-founder of Evoca.

Smith is CEO of his own business development firm, MSBD, Inc., and was previously EVP of Euro RSCG Magnet in Washington. He has also served as public affairs director at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in the early to mid-1990s.

Evoca is available to campaigns to voice enable their sites supporting the large-scale operations of grassroots communications. The Evoca Washington Office will be located at: National Press Club Building, 13th Floor, Washington, DC 20045. The contact number is 703-623-3834.
