Use your microphone

To record while sitting at your computer — using the online Browser Mic — follow the step-by-step instructions below or view the Use your Browser Mic video. Please share your feedback with the Evoca Team about this video How To beta version. Thanks!

You can use your on-board microphone (many laptops have it) or plug in an external microphone to your laptop or desktop computer.

Login to your My Home page. Click on the Your microphone link in the right-hand menu.

If your browser seems to be having problems remembering your settings, please check the Adobe Flash Player Support page for more information.

Before you begin recording, speak into your microphone to make sure the green bars light up on the far right button. Adjust microphone volume slide control so the green bars extend at least half-way when you speak. If the bars constantly show red when you speak into the microphone, reduce the volume to prevent distortion. For more information about how to get the best sound quality from your microphone, be sure to visit our Tips section.

Press the Record button to begin.

When you are finished, press the Stop button.

Listen back by pressing Play. If you are not satisfied with your recording, press Clear and start again.

If you are satisfied with your recording – set a title, description, and tags, and decide whether or not you want your recording to be Public (for everyone) or Private (for you). Don’t worry, if you change your mind, you can always change your settings again later!

When you are done, click Save.
