Create a group

The Group is a convenient organizational tool for your recordings. For example, a leader and team members could use a group to organize interviews for a research project. Or, a teacher and students can use groups for recording language sessions. Even families or organizations can use groups to organize oral history recordings.

A Group can also be used as a foundation for creating a Flash playlist player if you plan on making the recordings public or want to publish them to a password protected site for your organization.

  • To create a Group you have two choices:

(a)Click the My Groups tab at the top of your My Home page, the click “Create a new group”

(b) Click the +/- button under the “Groups” column” in the expanded view of the My recordings dashboard. This opens the the “Manage group assignment” window where you can click the green “Create new group” button.

  • When the group creation page opens, type in a name for your group.
  • Next, add a short description of what the group is for.
  • In the security field, select the group type you want.
  • Add an image, if you want to. This image will become the Flash playlist player image if you decide to use the Group as a foundation for a Flash playlist player. To find the image in your hard drive, just click the browse button and upload it.

  • Click on create my group to finish.
