Record audio stream of Skype video calls

Evoca makes it easy to instantly record the audio stream of Skype video calls. You can record and retrieve as the host or participant.

Capture the audio during Skype video interviews and conference calls using your computer or Skype smartphone or tablet apps and securely save and store recordings in MP3 format in your online Evoca account. Email your recordings to other call participants, post for playback on any website, blog, Facebook or Twitter, or keep private. No software downloads or updates are ever required because Evoca’s web service hosts and streams MP3 recordings online “in the cloud”.

Skype video calls to another person are free. Skype video conference calls with 3 to 10 people requires Skype Premium plan sign up following a 7-day free trial. The Evoca call recorder is like a “person” on the call, so you can have up to 9 participants plus Evoca.

How to record audio stream of Skype video calls with a one-time set up:

  • Register your Skype username in your Evoca account.
  • Add the “Evoca Call  Recorder” to your Skype contact list.
  • Add “Evoca Chat” as a contact to receive a post-recording confirmation chat with links to listen, download, order a transcription, and more.
  • Note: Adding the Recorder and Chat are one-time set-up actions. It may take time for these two contacts to be available depending on Skype’s network traffic.

Step #1: Go! Call one or more people on video

In your Contact list, find the people you want to talk to.
    Click on them.

In the main window, click the green Video call button.

    Video Call Button

    Smile, wave, say hello!

    Smile!

Step #2: Add the Evoca Skype Call Recorder contact to the call when ready to record

You will hear the Evoca welcome greeting and tone.

“This is the Evoca Skype Call Recorder. Begin recording after the tone.”

Start talking after the tone. You are recording the audio track while the video call is going on!

Step #3: Save the recording either by ending the video call or remove the Evoca Skype Call Recorder contact from the call

You will find the recording safely and securely saved in MP3 format to your Evoca account where you can change the title and take other useful actions.

You will receive a recording confirmation as a Skype chat from Evoca enabling you to instantly listen to the recording, download it, email it, post it to Facebook or Twitter, or embed an audio player in your blog or website. Or keep it private. You are in control.
